Overview

YouTube Spoiler is committed to your privacy. This policy explains what data we process and how.

Data We Process

  • Video transcripts: Sent to our server for AI summarization. Processed in real-time and not stored.
  • Video titles: Used to generate contextual summaries.
  • Anonymous usage count: A simple counter stored locally on your device.

Google Account Information

At install time, YouTube Spoiler requests access to your Google account identity via Chrome's identity permission. We collect:

  • Google account email address — used to link your device to a free-tier spoil count and, if you subscribe, to your Pro subscription via Stripe.
  • Google account ID (GAIA ID) — an opaque numeric identifier used alongside email for account management.

Purpose: Account management, daily usage limits, and subscription verification only.

Storage: Stored in Google Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud, northamerica-northeast1 region).

No sale or sharing: This data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.

Deletion: To request deletion of your data, email support@youtubespoiler.com with your Google account email address.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Your browsing history or YouTube watch history
  • Which specific videos you summarize
  • Any other personally identifiable information

Third-Party Services

Video transcripts are sent to Google's Gemini API for summarization. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Storage

Transcripts are processed in real-time and not stored on our servers. Summaries are cached locally in your browser and cleared when you close the tab. Removing the extension deletes all local data.
